The Harim Cup Professional Women’s Go Championship, which boasts the best tradition among domestic women’s competitions, decorated its finale with an awards ceremony to conclude its 29th season.

At the awards ceremony held at the Korea Baduk Association Hall on the afternoon of the 18th, Executive Director Moon Kyung-min of Harim Holdings, the tournament sponsor, Secretary General Yang Jae-ho of the Korea Baduk Association, and Chairman Han Jong-jin of the Association of Baduk Associations attended to present awards and congratulate 9-dan Kim Chae-young and 3-dan Sumire. 9-dan Kim Chae-young claimed the championship by defeating 3-dan Sumire 2-0 in the final third game, which concluded on the 13th. For Kim Chae-young, this marked her first title since joining the women’s national team, allowing her to experience the joy of winning the women’s national team title once again after 10 years, a victory that holds special significance.

Since transferring to the Korea Baduk Association in March, Sumire 3-dan has demonstrated impressive growth, finishing second in consecutive women’s tournaments. In the final 3rd round of the Women’s Ki-seong Tournament, which concluded recently, Sumire lost 1-2 to Choi Jeong 9-dan, securing second place. The 29th Women’s Guksu Tournament featured preliminaries with 41 participants, a main tournament with 5 seeded players (Choi Jeong, Kim Chae-young, Jo Hye-yeon, Oh Yu-jin, and Kim Kyung-eun), and culminated in a final 3rd round, offering a prize of 30 million won. winner and 10 million won for the runner-up.
